Verizon means business with it's Newest Smartphone with Android OS. They should be confident. We have had the Droid Android 2.0 Smartphone for almost a week and haven't come across and major defects or software cliches as of yet.
The Droid and Eris phones a very powerful tools which iPhone just doesn't have. There is so much to mention, but just the free voice activated GPS is good reason to send iPhone to The Island Of Misfit Toy's. iPhone really is just a toy compared to a open source Android Phone and the Droid takes it another step.
Have fun with all your new friends iPhone.
When it comes to iPhone VS Droid Droid wins hands down.

November 6, 2009 was a huge day for The Verizon Droid Smartphone. At midnight the Verizon Wireless Website unlocked the Droid for sale.

The site was completly updated with Robots Building the Droid Cell Phones. At the same time Verizon began doing the Droid Drop. A Interactive video game where users can pick a address from Google Maps and Drop A Droid on the target. Very cool Stuff.

We can't help but notice the Stealth Fighter in the first commercial where Dropping Droids on the Mid West parts of America. Is this a snub to the AT&T folks and Apple iPhone? Maybe. AT&T is known for having very limited 3G connection speeds on there network.

This is why Verizon has been picked and voted by users to be the best 3G wireless network in the USA. So Verizon has decided to bombard the empty parts of the AT&T network with Droid Cell Phones. Very, Very Cool!

In the beginning the Droid was just a rumor. Smartphone geeks heard the phone mentioned at CTIA 2009 under whispers, but know one really knew what was to come. Of course the select insiders chosen to receive demo phones knew everything.
The word Droid started to circulate on the Internet around midnight 12:00 Am October 18th 2009. By morning the first YouTube video appeared. Droid Does Android 2.0.
The Video a early promo from Verizon and Motorola clearly draws attention to the things iPhone doesn't do. Like run multiple apps at one time.
After watching the video and searching the net we found Droid was a conglomeration between Verizon Motorola and Google.
